Fitness

Here is where I will post my fitness log. One of my brothers participates in triathlons so I am counting on him for some fitness tips. His first tip to me was to buy Jillian Michael’s (The Biggest Loser) Winning by Losing book. He says it is one of the best books out there on fitness and healthy eating. Of course, it is full of numbers and counting (not my thing), but I am going to enlist my mathematician husband to help with the counting part. I am just too ADHD for charts, calorie counting, and fitness logs. I just hope I manage to maintain this blog!

You can order the book from Amazon.com.

You can totally keep up the blog. If you miss a day or a few days, don’t beat yourself up. Just catch us up and keep on blogging.
I’ll have to check out the book. I haven’t read this one yet.

you can follow Jillian’s book, which is great…. but if you really have a problem with the math, (which is easy once you determine your metabolic rate, and you calorie intake)…. just get your max. calorie intake for each day, which should flux with your exercise routine, and then just count protein intake in a 3 to 1 or max 4 to 1 ratio….

i.e. you consume 20 grams of protein with a chicken breast – eat only 80 grams of whole, natural carbs (not processed food) – which is a total of 400 calories b/w the two…. a nice chicken breast over a large salad, with a natural salad dressing (try Newman’s Own) with a glass if water is a good meal…

don’t beat yourself over counting fats.

at this stage stay away from fruit juices, eat only whole fruit…. v8 veg. juice is fine (1 small can a day)

everything comes in time.
