Exercise is the first to go

22 10 2009

Why is it that when school heats up, exercise is the first thing to go? I found the time to cook a healthy meal today (will include the bodybugg food log later), but didn’t find the time to go to the gym and still didn’t get everything done. AARRGGHH!!!! I did a little Wii Dancing with the Stars, but not enough to burn sufficient calories. Have a deficit because I ate less, but I really have to ramp up the calorie burn if I want to lose weight faster. I know, I know, I know–2 pounds a week is safe weight loss, but who cares if it is safe. Safe doesn’t get you into the suit you want to wear at the conference on Nov. 2nd.

I’m sure your dietician (sp?) has advised you about the horrors of partially dehydrated vegetable oil…. check your microwave popcorn and your soup… don’t eat it…. hot air pop your popcorn woman!

last thing…. I would highly suggest you greatly vary your meals… i.e. eat many different kinds of foods instead of the same drudge…… remember the story of Oliver Twist… when the orphan took his plate up to the guard,
“More please?” …… (food, glorious food, yadda yadda song) … you keep eating the same stuff and you will go up to the “guard” – ergo the grocery store and what? “More please?” – you’ll buy more crappy food!!!

p.s. my “rah rah” is a slap to your head…. (your virtual Jillian)

Okay, I was a little harsh earlier…..

Anyway, who says 2lbs or less a week is safe and anything more is unsafe? B.S.

You need once a week a hard metabolic workout…. it is not a long 60 min. exercise session… but a very hard high intensity 20 min. interval style burn with 10 min. warm-up prior and 10 min. cool down afterward…

2nd note – you ate the vast majority of your protein at dinner…. your body will only absorb so much protein at once, so spread your protein out during the day. …
(I’m not saying you can’t eat 60 grams of protein in one meal but 1/2 of that will not be used by the body and will be a waste to count it as total daily protein intake.)
